Eagles | Owens may be Giving Money Back
    Mon, 7 Nov 2005 16:35:53 -0800

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Terrell Owens has a clause in his contract where he must repay a portion of his signing bonus if he's suspended for more than one game. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Eagles are going after $1.8 million of his signing bonus.

If he doesn't fulfill the terms of his contract he should have to pay back the pro-rated balance.

I agree but that won't amount to much. They gave him most of the up-front money as a roster bonus.

But if he out-fullfills the terms of his contract, he shouldn't get anything else?

I don't approve of his antics, but the double standard is really lame.

Is that much different than the way that Ricky Williams' cointract was structured?

Please explain exactly what the definition of "out-fullfills the terms of a contract" means, and how a person does this exactly?

And while you are at it, please 'splain what the double standard is and how is it lame?

I'm really confused, and I'm not too stoopid of a guy.

    Preesh.

It gives credence to the idea they sent in Douglas to start trouble. It gives legitimizes their request for getting money back.
