    some motherboards wont recognize USB 2.0 cards. They just won't work. Depends on the age and manufacturer of the computer.

    If your motherboard has USB ports on it already, then a USB2.0 PCI card will work.

    If your computer currently doesnt have any regular USB ports, then your shit is old and you've got bigger fish to fry than USB2.0.
