Why does Firefox open a video clip on a website ALOT faster than IE, and how can I get IE to open a flash viseo faster. Here is the site with video . Try with IE and prepare to yellow with age :cussing: . With Firefox it doesn't take that long :Woot_Emot

My guess is that IE is downloading the file, and then playing it locally. If it were a small file, you wouldn't notice the difference.

so far that's what it looks like to me. I think on dial up the Firefox version may take as long, but it plays streaming with a decent speed.

It's idiotic Flash. Who knows. The plug-in for Firefox and the control for IE are probably different. And it could just be that your page sucks and is causing IE to do the download. I'm not a web expert, so I'll leave that to others to determine if anyone cares :).

Can you think of any otherway to make it load faster than flash? I got it in a movie format and converted it over (friend did it) to flash hoping to have it load easier

If people have a recent version of WMP, you can get it to play as it streams to them, resulting in near immediate playback. Just encode it into a Windows Media Video format...

I was going to respond to El Bastardo, but then I saw his avatar and forgot everything I was thinking about.

    Carry on.

    Ugh... this post is dumb.

I like Opera, but it has nothing to do with this thread,
