    Anyone tell me the exact restrictions this puts on the goalie. Guys on the TV last night didn't explain it very well.

    Ok, the goalie is fair game outside the crease now. Not checking, but being able to pin him against the boards. It happened to Turco last night. It's a rule designed to let the other team forecheck the goalie when he's trying to play the puck for a breakout. Here's the diagram...

    So, if he's outside the "crease", (behind or in front), he's gonna be bothered by the other team.

    Also, if the goalie touches the puck outside of the crease, it's a 2 minute penalty.

    But only if it is behind the goal line, outside of the trapazoid area.
