Every week I keep hoping Mick Mixon gets better. Every week I'm disappointed. I think he actually gets worse. It's true I really miss Rosinski. However, I understand he's gone and won't be coming back.

Does anyone know how long we signed Mixon for? Please tell me the Panthers will get someone new next year. Was he this bad for the Tarheels?

He's the same guy that does the Panthers Huddle weekly show, right?

If so, he's plain as dry white toast!

I said this when we signed him, but I'll say it again. Mixon will continue to suck for this year. He may get better the last few weeks of the season, but he'll suck for a while longer. He's never done play by play before on a regular bais. It's much different than doing color. Once he gets in the play by play groove, I think he'll be great, and I really think we'll all love him in a couple of years.

Oh, and I hate Carolina, so I'm not a Mixon homer.

Not so sure, not many people ever liked the original ferret-face

I listened to the game on WBT yesterday because my cable went out, and the combination of Mick, Jim, and Eugene in the booth is terrible, with absolutely no chemistry. I would have rather listened to ancient Dick Enberg and Dierdorf.

Then they still play Rosinski PBP calls on the promos during commercials :wtf23:

I have always liked Dierdorf. He is funny sometimes. I think that was the best MNF crew they have had when it was Al Michaels, Frank Gifford and Dan Dierdorf.

actually, I enjoy Enberg and Dierdorf, while antiquated their non bias and know a little something about football.

I actually like Dierdorf too and MNF was great with those three. I think Enberg, great in the 70s-80s, has seen better days.

My point really was more that I would listen to the radio over almost anybody on TV doing the game. Now if I am home, they only time I will listen to the radio is if Joe Buck (who I absolutely detest) is calling the game.

If you don't like Buck, watch this Bang cartoon. He's in it. It's pretty funny.

I could do away with his learning the starting RB's full 3 names, and him continually screwing up players' names (Lefors in, he says Delhomme; Smith, Colbert, and Gardner are interchangeable, and SMith is commonly called Stephen Davis). I'm willing to give him enough of a chance to still listen to radio rather than TV.

But at this point, hearing Szoke, I'd rather have him do much of the work, and have Mixon as a color commentator. Szoke really can't get excited like Rosinski, but otherwise he's solid. Granted, I wouldn't have been happy with us hiring Szoke for that role, but at this point I'd prefer him to Mixon.
