I don't see enough differences to warrant upgrading from 2K3 to this. Ecspecially with Longhorn Server just around the corner.

Um Longhorn Server not Vista. I'm thinking it 2007 when Longhorn Server comes out. That's 2 years. Considering the money to upgrade from Win Server 2K3 to Win Server 2K3 2nd edition. I think I can hold out that long.

Don't "umm" me, brainboy. I know the diff.

Server code forks from Vista next summer. RC2 in October, RTM in January.

So, Print Management, Storage Management, and DFS management aren't issues today? You don't have any branch locations? You don't cooperate with business partners (ADFS)? And you'd rather wait 2 years for Longhorn Server, which you then won't install until a year later when SP1 ships, which will be a major upgrade vs. the relatively painless upgrade that R2 represents?
R2 doesn't require any CAL changes, just what is likely a charge for the server license itself ($200 maybe for a large company, or free if they have Software Assurance, which large companies usually do). It uses the same SP's as Win2003 SP1, it is essentially a feature pack installed on top of a Win2003 SP1 system. Should be a no-brainer for most companies.
