Cramer might just end up counting as a TE.

hard to say though, because there's not a good chance the team carries more than 3 TEs. They look to be attempting to turn the rings over to Seidman this year. Mangum will return because the team likes what he brings, and Gaines played damned good against Washington.

I thought McCree looked very good on STs. I think Smart is better than Hankton as a cover guy. Micah Ross may be as good.

Hankton apparently hurt his shoulder. Bruise or something. Don't know how serious it is.

Smart had a very nice special teams tackle early, and Hankton squared someone up late. One-on-one tackles in the open field on punts/kickoffs are going to be more important to this team than ever, now that we can't count on Brun to bail us out with the occasional boomer. I still see both making the team. I think Hankton is a little more expendable of the two however, as Smart also had a couple of decent returns.

What about Floyd #40? He had a nice ST tackle too late, could he be a possible "gunner" replacement for Hankton?

Hankton's the captain. He will not be cut.

thats aid - Drew Carter is unlikely to make the team.

We won't carry more than 5 receivers, and before drew:

    Smith
    Colbert
    Gardner
    Proehl
    Hankton

That's 5. No one else will make it. :twocents:

RB is even tougher. Real tough.

    We have:

    Davis (pup? maybe not?)
    But beyond Davis:

    (Davis)
    Foster
    Goings
    Shelton
Smart? Maybe not if Davis isn't PUP.

    Hoover
    Cramer

Maybe Smart makes squad over Cramer, and Goings is backup FB?

It's tight as hell before the scrubs get involved. Drew Carter is as long a shot as anyone.

It's a tight bunch of cuts. I think some of our guys will be picked up.

don't see them cutting Carter. if he stays healthy, somehow they will make room for him.

hankton is awesome on ST. richardson wasn't. really can't see him being cut.

    >> I think some of our guys will be picked up.

gotta agree. there are gonna be some guys i'm really high on that ain't gonna make the team.

    >> Hankton apparently hurt his shoulder.

i guess on that pass he caught.

yeah I don't see how they can cut Drew Carter...

if they find a way to keep Hankton, that's cool....but Wesley, Hankton, Smart, & Jackson is my guess for fighting for those last couple of roster spots

Unfortunately, we'll probably keep Hankton. I like his special teams play, don't get me wrong...but we need a WR that can be effective if forced into duty.

Carter may not make the final 53, but he can still go Practice Squad.

He's not a rookie, so I dont think he can, unless there's some loophole about being placed on IR your whole rookie year. Plus someone would take him.
