Agreed. 1st preseason game depth chart = who do they want to evaluate most / give most reps to.

Still tho, guys working with the first team have usually earned it. Our coaches don't seem to experiment much with the first team except when forced to.. Emanuel must have impress the shit out of someone.

True, but consider that Minter is injured, and it makes sense they'd want Emmanuel to have every opportunity to win the backup job. The other guys have already had a few seasons' worth of reps.

All the newspapers have Bashir as the starter. They got that as the official release from the Panthers.

Sounds right. The depth chart on the website is often pretty shaky, esp in preseason.

That chart just shows that new guys have to take the spot and not get it handed to them. Except maybe in the case of Lucas.

Just an overall look at the team.

4 of our draftees are listed on the second team. 3 on the third team. Those don't include Shelton or LeFors. That's a pretty good showing for the rooks.

Our first teams O and D are the vets of last few years excepting Lucas and Wahle, but we have a shit load of young new talent now listed on the 2nd and 3rd team.

This is a pretty amazing feat after last year. It sure as hell looks like we are good to go this season.
