The radio network that I work for does this all the time. They record audio into their laptop, save the audio as an MP3 and transfer it via FTP. Works great.

This doesn't solve the problem that they were having with the Rosinski show since it was live. If the show was a tape delay then this method would work but it would be difficult to do a live show this way. Bill would need to be able to hear callers and commercials in real time. And the callers would need to be able to hear him...

Some day we will be able to send good quality audio over 'IP' in real time but the technolgy is just not ready yet...

I understand that Bill's show is a different deal than the rest of WFNZ... but when he's having trouble with the Fontana set-up, why not hop on the WFNZ set-up that was working fine just minutes before?

Also, not just this week, but from the beginning it seems like they have trouble going to commercial and coming back from commercial. I think it was one show two weeks ago where they had that annoyingly absurd rock music loop playing for about 10-15 minutes during the show and didn't notice it.

It just seems poorly produced from the people that aren't technically knowledgeable about such things, like myself.

They were using WFNZ's gear at Spartanburg. They did not have the ability to dial Long Distance from Spartanburg. WFNZ was able to dial Spartanburg but the Charis studio was not...

I must admit I haven't listened to Bill's show very many times. It is hard to tell which end is having an issue when part of the show comes from one studio and other parts come from another. As I said in an another thread I heard Metro sending a sports cast to WFNA one day while ESPN was on the air.

The producer of Bill and Danny's shows is top notch. Bo Thompson is a sharp cookie.
