Digital vs. Analog flat screen monitors.

What's the price difference compared to the benefits?

Exactly, what does digital do and are there more problems with them?

    Thanks.

    Monitors or TVs?

Analog can have signal interference, digital will not. But analog is more a full spectrum, whereas digital is sampling. A very high rate of sampling, but sampling nonetheless.

The difference is akin to the people who are certain they can hear the difference between a vinyl album and a CD.

(My Dell monitor has digital and analog inputs. I use digital)

Damnit, am I really that geeky? I thought that was layman enough. :1peekdoor

Here - I wanna try again. Filling a glass of water example.

Analog - you fill it by dipping it in the punch bowl or whatever. You capture everything that's in there, good & bad.

Digital - you select a billion different drops from the punch bowl. You don't get all the good ones, but you also don't get any nasty stuff either.

I understood it the first time, but thank you!:) I work with resolution/voxels/pixels/kspace etc... etc... a lot.

I just don't know if I should buy the digital computer monitor or the analog one. :)

That's why some consultants in IT get paid, and a lot of geeks make $30k doing tech support. You've gotta be able to translate the tech into a solution...

Buy the digital TV. Digital vs. Analog is more about inputs than anything. The analog will be outdated soon (I think it was pushed back to 2009, but still, it's coming) in the US. There is no advantage to the old analog TVs.

dirty screen...also works great for "lap" tops.. screen takes a "licking" all the time...

I noticed that my monitor was not quite as clear as when I first got it. Apparently the electrons build up on the inside of the screen with time, and the picture deteriorates.

I found a free program that I used to 'clean' the inside of the screen and the improvement was quite noticeable.

I highly recommend it. If you'd like to try it, simply click on the following link.

The program is free, works automatically, and takes only about 45 seconds to do its job.

I did try this and it's a safe and effective program. No viruses or spyware or other kinds of malware.
