    OK I need a new home PC and thinking laptop as a desktop. Any good ideas where to start.

    Something like 80-90% of all laptops are made by a Taiwanese company called Clevo (or sumthin like that), then sold to folks like Dell, etc to put their own custom shells on.

    And umm what's the notebooks.com one? It's on resellerratings.com. We discussed this ad nasuem probably 6-12 months ago.

    Basicly, just buy a clevo laptop from one of these guys unless you're into Dell's customer service.

    And get a Pentium M (the 7XX series and newer) or maybe an Athlon 64 Mobile. Dont screw with anything else, even if it says it's faster. A Pentium M 1.7GHz will smoke a P4 3.2GHz in most computing tasks. Dont ask why, it's a boring answer.
