Updating a previous story, ESPN.com's John Clayton reports Carolina Panthers P Todd Sauerbrun will visit with the Denver Broncos Sunday, May 8. The meeting could lead to a trade in which the Panthers receive a low second-day draft choice in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Broncos | Sauerbrun in Town - from www.KFFL.com
    Tue, 10 May 2005 05:36:44 -0700

As expected, the Rocky Mountain News reports Carolina Panthers P Todd Sauerbrun visited with the Denver Broncos Monday, May 9. The Broncos must now decide if the often-controversial 32-year-old is worth a trade. If they decide a trade is the right thing to do, they will send a seventh-round pick in next year's 2006 draft to the Panthers for him. "I don't want to say much right now. We'll just let this play out over the next few days," David Canter, Sauerbrun's agent said. Sauerbrun has three years remaining on his current contract with salary-cap charges of $1.56 million for the upcoming season, $1,655,000 in 2006 and $1.76 million in 2007.

Read somewhere that his agent said Tampa was interested too. Too bad Gramatica is not still there! :laugh1:

The only way he goes to Tampa is if he's released. We'd NEVER trade him to a team in our division.

Those are some high cap numbers for a 7th round pick

With each passing day, I am more and more sure that shipping his drunk ass out of town is a good thing.

Broncos | Sauerbrun Deal Stalled - from www.KFFL.com
    Thu, 12 May 2005 19:02:10 -0700

ESPN.com's John Clayton reports the potential trade between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers involving Panthers P Todd Sauerbrun has stalled because Sauerbrun has not reached an agreement on a new contract with Denver. Sauerbrun isn't asking for a big raise, but he wants a new deal to go to the Broncos. Sauerbrun also feels he can make more than his scheduled $1.2 million, if he's cut June 1.
