    That looks pretty good. I am not a big Intel fan though, and I would wait a couple of months if possible, when newer dual-core processors drive down the costs of all processors.

    While you could build a compatible system for a few hundred less, you could not do so with Dell's warranty, and with the software they bundle.

    Yeah, those are certainly the pros and cons I've been weighing. I think I've decided to wait because of the new dual processors coming out though.

    I was about to start gathering components to build a new socket 939 SLI PC - even though my current socket 754 build is only six months old. Now I read that AMD is coming out with a new socket M2 early next year, and it will support DDR2, so I will probably wait a while longer. With computing, everything gets "old" so fast ;)

    This deal is ok, the first one you posted is a ripoff.

    The best P4's are the 7xx series, they are based on the Dothan (laptop) core. Even though they are clocked slower, they are faster in operation and use a lot less juice.

    I'd still rather have an Athlon 64 build, but Dell is Dell...
