Why did we select Thomas Davis over Derrick Johnson

    We have Bashir and Mcree and Branch who can all play free safety. No need to move a corner over. I like having Gamble and Lucas starting and Manning on the slot. I think we are going to have an awesome defense now. I look for Davis to play linebacker.

    I read all this about his ability to guard a tightend. Any chance this has something to do with Crumpler, seeing him twice a season. Plus the idea of making Vick go down, and not just running by him. (I guess I just wonder do teams really draft against teams in their division?)

    Johnson has speed to burn as well, so that wasn't the issue. Ultimately it came down to the fact that Davis likes to hit and Johnson does not.
