i'm not even going to argue because i haven't seen much of him. but what makes him different than ron dayne? dayne won the heisman and is (was?) 1A's all-time leading rusher.

Dayne was a balloon that couldn't move laterally and played behind one of the best blocking offensive lines of all-time. Meanwhile Benson picks his holes and the Texas line went through some rough spots the last two years. Seriously, they couldn't have less in common. As a runner, Ronnie Brown has more in common with Ron Dayne than Benson.

Is this the same Collin who back in the day said that Tomlinson wouldn't be good in the NFL and that Vick wasn't coming out early? Which rock have you been hiding under?

    With Barron,

we have Barron, Wahle, Mitchell, Wharton, Gross

right now we have Wharton, Wahle, Mitchell, Reyes, Gross + a drafted guy to compete with Reyes.

    with Baas.

We have Wharton, Wahle, Mitchell, Baas, Gross

    what works best?

I would think with Barron, would be the better of the two. Mainly because Wharton was pretty good at guard. Is he worthy of a LT is the big question.

I don't see the lateral movement in Benson.

Brown might have more size than Benson or Williams, but even at best Dayne was sold as an inside runner, and Brown isn't that player. Dayne never had the outside speed or ability in the open field and Brown isn't being sold as a player who'll only make his living inside.

You know I can't stand Barron.
Right now, making Wharton stay at guard is the best for the team. Which makes a tackle most likely.

On the other hand, if the team thinks Wharton is able at LT, then you can probably make the right moves without the 1st rounder. It's too bad that the team wasn't that convincing at selling Wharton at LT as a great thing.

Rick Gosselin's mock having him fall to 26 and below Brown is worrisome to me. If he could be a very good LT, i'd be all behind the pick. But I'd hate to tie up a lot of money in an unmotivated, average OT.
