Hard to imagine the Panthers passing on anybody who just got significantly bigger, stronger and faster in a matter of weeks.

 

Canuck back works out; will get more looks… In what appears to be one of the 2005 pre-drafts most secretive affairs, Canadian RB Jesse Lumsden of McMaster worked out at a private workout in front of four teams at a downtown Toronto sports facility earlier this week. No results have been formally been released from the workout, however one scout reportedly commented that the 6-2, 225-pound Lumsden was “in that range” referring to the 4.45 40 clocking that Lumsden had been aiming for. The teams in attendance have also been kept a state secret – no word yet on whether the Mounties were supervising the event – but Indianapolis, Seattle, Carolina and St. Louis were believed to have been the teams in attendance. Indeed, the Seahawks will reportedly have Lumsden in for a private workout in Seattle on April 7th. Lumsden set all the Canadian university rushing records this past season as he ran for over 2,000 yards in just 9 games. After a strong appearance in the East-West Shrine game in January Lumsden didn’t get an invitation to the scouting combine in Indianapolis and has been looking for a place to showcase his skill since. He has been working out in Arizona since Christmas and had hoped to be able to participate in a pro day in that area, however, NFL rules mandate that a player has to workout either at their own school or within a limited range from their hometown.
