Kasay and the 60 yarder?

I am not entirely certain about this but I believe that Kasey kicked a 59 or 60 yard field goal in a pre-season game. I think it happened 2 or 3 years ago.

 

i kicked a 80 yd field goal off a tee.

 

Kasay nailed a 61 yarder in preseason against NE about 4? years ago.

I just wanted to see him try it. That block will always be one of the great disappointments for me in my history of watching sports. A 60 yd. fg with the season on the line, it doesn't get any better. I just wanted to see him try it.

 

At the time I was thinking of the really long attemp Jax had last year, that Minter blocked. I never thought we had a chance. Well, maybe 1% or something.

 

I was sitting at the side of the endzone where Kasay made that 61 yarder, so I always believe there's a chance even though he's older and been through two serious injuries since that night. Of course the chance of a block is greater from the long distances, but with the seconds left and the distance, I think a kick was our best hope in that instance. We really needed a time out left for that drive..............

 

I agree. I thought at the time that we would have a better shot at a hail mary, than a kick that I figured would get blocked, and not even as bad as it was blocked (what happened to our line? They didn't block anybody!).

Still, I agree with the timeout situation.

Is it just me, or does Fox seem to throw the red flag many times wasting a dang timeout on a play that obviously wouldn't be overturned. It happened again last game. That and didn't he burn a timeout trying to get the booth to give a review in the last 2 mins when obvoiusly it was not gonna be overturned? Sometimes I wonder who's advising him on this.
