Don't forget the little red button when you do that.

Good one. Now go back and look at the time between my post and y2's. Then, assume that I did NOT stare at his post for 24 minutes but rather that I was posting in other forums.

You're gonna need two programs... one to rip the DVD to avi (I believe maybe mpeg) and one that extracts audio from those ripped files.

Or, you can find a program that records the sound from your computer's sound card into an mp3 file. I had several before I lost them in the crash of 2003.

I think it was called SoundSource. But I can't find it. I searched on Download.com but only found shareware. No freeware.

    start>programs>accessories>entertainment>volume control

    Options>Properties

Adjust volume for > Recording. Put a checkbox in the Wave/MP3 box (or all of them if you want)

Click OK. Now, on the main screen, put a check in the selection box under the Wave/MP3 column. You may also have one called "What U Hear"....you could use this one as well.

NOW, you should be able to play the dvd in media player or whatever player of choice and use Sound Recorder (also in accessories>entertainment) to record the section of audio while you're playing the dvd in another player.

I used an older version of Cool Edit to do this, but they have since been bought out by Adobe, and the software is now called Adobe Audition.

    You're welcome. :xyzthumbs
