Is his knee that bad, or is there some other reason, you think?

take it for what its worth, but I saw Davis in the locker room on Wednesday and it looked like he was coming out of the weight room. He was not using crutches and was not limping (at least noticeably). My best guess is that he is working hard to get back as soon as he can so he can reclaim his starting spot next year. He sees the work Goings is doing and realizes that Goings is a much cheaper runner doing some pretty good things....once again...my best guess--take it for what it may be worth.

Wouldn’t they have to reach an injury settlement before they cut him?

There's absolutely no reason they'd cut Stephen Davis, fiscally or competitively.

Davis will be back. he may not have to rush back as quick but no way we let him go. SD is a hoss, pounds it a little harder than goings and foster. foster was out basically a year, davis should be back by early season.

and Smart, dont know if he is back next year, but he said he could play right now, but hes on the IR.

I don't see Smart coming back either. Or Davis being rushed even if he claims he's ready.

I would like that or Jordan would be kinda nice. I really like those types of runners for this offense.

Dayne would be cheap, though he'd probably have to be insurance. Don't see him cracking a top 3 we have healthy - Jordan would just be expensive.
