Yes, our playoff hopes just got a nice shot in the arm. Granted it don't mean shit unless we win on Sunday

    Mike....

We do need to win out...in fact, if we win our next two games, STL drops one of two, and the Vikes lose @ Washington (tough matchup for Minny), we will grab the #5 seed...that would send us to Seattle for the Wildcard.

In addition, a #5 seed would open up the possibility of an NFC Title Game in Charlotte. That is, if we win the first two rounds (if we get in) and the two teams with a bye (PHI/ATL) both lose in the divisional round. Not out of the realm of possibility in the NFC this year.

With all that said.....let's win on Sunday.

    Solarte:

Here is "our playoff scenario", per The Observer:

The Panthers clinch a playoff berth if they win twice and:

    • St. Louis loses at least once

    • OR, Green Bay wins at least once

    • OR, Seattle wins twice OR loses twice

This was as of this morning. Green Bay has won today (at least once). I suppose that means that if we win out, we're in. Right?

Ok, I saw the same reported in the Observer. I don't understand though. Seattle has not won their division yet. They need:

    1) SEA win + STL loss or tie OR
    2) SEA tie + STL loss

Seattle can clinch a playoff birth with:

    1) SEA win
    2) SEA tie + CAR loss or tie + NO loss or tie

Since Seattle would have the tiebreaker over us since they beat us, couldn't Minnesota grab a Wildcard, St Louis win the NFC West, and Seattle win the other Wildcard even if Carolina wins out?

I think the Observer is wrong on their breakdown.

We win out, and Seattle clinches their division or loses out, then we're in. Bottom line, if we win out, it's 99.9% certain.
