    getting a scholly? It's probably all marketing, that or going to a mid-major (or less) around the area he lives in, state school, and walking on (and hoping). I'm pretty sure a lot of kickers have to start out as walk-ons unless they're just tremendously highly recruited.

    If the school has any class at all, the hs football coaches and AD should be making contacts for him already.....there is nothing at all wrong with you/him/family making contacts to the school the player is interested in attending either....
