The only thing I'm particularly discouraged about from this game is the potential health of Kris Jenkins. I REALLY didn't want to see him trying to play through a knee injury in Week 1 (wtf was the coaching staff thinking?), so I'm concerned he may have aggravated it on those couple of plays in the second half. Without Jenkins putting pressure up the middle, we obviously just didn't have much of a pass rush.

And on that note, while I didn't think much of Jammal Brown in the draft, I have to give him credit because he did a fine job on Peppers. Granted, Pep caused many of his own problems by getting back to that standing up and dancing crap instead of charging with leverage (can someone please send him some tapes of Dwight Freeney?).

Our coverage is liquid ass in a can, but I think that will improve, especially if we decide to play only one strong safety at a time. Sadly I'm no longer sure that Ricky Manning can contribute in any respect whatsoever. I don't know what happened to him, but he just isn't useful anymore.

A win is a win, but whenever a team dominates the turnover margin and just barely wins the game, they probably weren't the better team.

Turnovers had so much to do with it, yeah. BUt heres my crack, and concerns, too.

We lost because our defense cant play well. FOr three years, weve been getting worse and worse and worse. Well....ever since Trgos taken over, that is. Our third downs there will continue to be poor as long as we rush three, and never get much pressure. Just cant give receivers time to get open.

    THoughts....

    1. Thomas Davis is NOT THERE yet. Bench him for a bit, and...

    2. Start Marlon McCree. Just for a bit, unless Davis really comes on. Marlon McCree needs playing time, and can give this defense an identity of toughness, even though its not close to being tough.

    3. Will Witherspoon is playing for a large contract. Morgan isnt playing up to his.

    4. Rucker might be gone. He might have forgotten how to play football. In the past, hes been his absolute best in the first eight games, and wears down. Hes not even good now. Ok, solid, maybe. But not good.

    5. Carstens did ok. Eh....ok.

    6. THe clock management on that offensive drive with a little over two minutes left was TERRIBLE, and its not the first time weve done that stupid shit. It cost us.

    7. Our defense just cant stop anybody.

    8. Manning Jr. has just forgotten how to play this game, and should be faced with a release if he doesnt pick it up, and while hes trying to get better, Wesley should start there.

    9. No halftime adjustments were made. Thats scary.

    10. Trgovic is just an awful DC....

    11. We dont use playaction enough, and when we do, we dont use it well.

    12. Our DL played well against the run today...but we had absolutely no pass rush.

    13. Our D has gotten worse with every year since Del Rio left....wonder if we can equal John Mardhall's defenses this year.

    14. Each year we blame someone on D why we cant be aggressive. Last year it was Gamble. WHo will be the goat this year? Davis? Each year we bring in more help, and we continue to get worse....wonder if Trgo has anything to do with that?

    15. We got partially jobbed by the refs, no question, but we jobbed ourselves too. Next week we face the World Champs, whove already had lots of time to prepare for us. Theyre probably laughing. And Trgo's probably sweating.

It is what it is...we got beat by a better team TODAY. Meaning the Saints were the better team on this day. They were better prepared and had a better tactical approach to this game (Moorhead and Gardner inactive???).

Are they the better team overall? I don't think so, but that will be answered in the weeks to come.

He was somewhat efficient. Started out hot. Just didn't place the ball as well as you'd want, didn't have the zip.

Yeah, that sucked. Never seen so many OPIs, illegal touching on one team, well, ever.

And McKenzie is a looter. Fuck that guy got away with more handchecks than a catholic teen's boyfriend.

Me too, though when we did that we tried swing pass to Goings (who went out of bounds:banginghe ) and a run to Foster that got us nothing. And then we threw incomplete to Proehl. So we killed the clock twice for no real purpose. Get a couple yards on a sweep to the open field and kill 20 seconds.

I wanted to see us run more, both overall and in this game, because I was worried about the receivers on the outside. Didn't expect it'd come from guys like Craft.

Does that make you feel better? Because I'm quite sure the Panthers dont feel the same way. Take your lumps and notice that you were actually lucky to be close to this game.

The Saints with all of their diversity raped you of an easy home win. Might want to start looking at next years draft......

I don't feel bad. I thought I made that clear in the earlier post. I never expected us to go 16-0, I said before the game that NO worried me, and I had us splitting the season series with them anyway. I'm not trying to make myself feel better, I'm just stating a fact. When a team dominates the turnover margin and still just barely wins, they probably weren't the better team. For whatever reason (and aside from a few plays it was not because of the pass rush), Jake went back to playing like he did early last season, and his turnovers cost us dearly.

You might enjoy trash talking, but I don't. In fact, your one note opera went beyond boring the moment you started singing. Congrats on the win, but you didn't have anything to do with it just like I didn't have anything to do with our loss.

Thats about it. THats why I dont get into trash talking with otehr team's fans, because they always act like theyre the big shit. BUt then again, I guess we can be thankful we didnt have a bunch of rotting corpses floating through our streets, and hopefully his house is sunk and his grandmother is a bloated pile of shit stuck in the corner of a nursing home....

Lucky? Friend, we outgained you by a good margin. Your vaunted pass rush had one sack, which produced a TO that your promtly gave back.

Given the amount of mistakes we made, yes, we should have lost by more. A good team creams us today.
