it was a heated bench, but it wasn't cold enough to warrant EVERYONE over there, sans coaches.

Humbled, boys and girls. Cats got humbled. This is the springboard to the SuperBowl for Carolina.

    yes, I am serious.

Has kind of the same feel as the loss to HOU in '03, no?

Not the Some.I psot this before. But here is why we are 7-3 and not 10-0 as we should be.I think if anyone is going to be mad at Jake, as he or she should we should also be Mad. That no one on the Panthers WR has catch as played as good as Smith has all season long. I bet if we had 2nd WR. Those try to get open and Catch the ball. Then I can beat 100% That would have not throw two interceptions .You have every right to be mad at Jake for throwing this two interceptions But you also have to realize that no one has so far have step up and become the 2nd WR.keary Colbert last year he was very good And this Year he is not The some guy I don't have any idea what has happen to him. Maybe he just need a new hair cut :satana: .And btw I am not saying that we should have kept Fooooooos. By letting him go we sign 2top FA in the off-season so that was a good move. But at some time if you let a Top WR go then you have to sign someone who can replace him. Can anyone in here can tell me who is the panthers 2nd WR on the team and the answer no one is the 2nd WR.It Smithy then we have out there WR that on Other team right now would be the 3rd or 4th WR on the raster but our team they are 2nd and 3rd WR .We better hope and pray. That Steve smith doesn’t miss any game if he does miss any game. You can forget about the playoff. Look at the pats team that won all this super bolw. They reason they won it is because they have alt of very good players they don't have one they don't have superstar and the rest are average players. They have very good players. That can show up and play if one of their players has to miss a game. That how it should be. That why we are 7-3 right now and not 10-0

Chris Weinke didn't have any problems finding our other receivers.

It wasn't against that DL. I think he'd have been eaten up too Sunday, then we'd have two guys with happy feet. No way to know, but we seemed to have a line made up of Stuessies and Willigs.

You have more confidence than I. I haven't seen anything this year that would make me assume playoffs. I would be disappointed at 8 and 8 but not shocked. I'll take one game at a time and hope for the best.

I love Smitty and am still a Jake fan, but I have been thinking this. I mean, it's as if every major mistake Jake makes he is trying to throw to Smitty. Now I realize he is a playmaker and there are probably tons of throws that Jake has completed that were a wing and a prayer, but the ol Weinkster was targeting Colbert it seemed more than Jake. I just can't help but think that the defenses are doing to Jake what they are doing to David Carr to some extent knowing full well what the percentages are that Smitty is the guy. With Carr they are jumping the guy he is looking at since he never looks a guy off, but it's a similar situation since it doesnt matter who Jake is looking at, it's going to Smitty.

Not sure Colberts been open or anyone else for that matter, but I do know Smitty is getting too many balls thrown at him and I see that as a problem. Our passing offense is too one deminsional.

That's not true, off memory. I'm sure there's as much to Smitty, or more, but I can think of a good couple picks thrown toward Colbert, some to Proehl, and at least two that came off the RB target. There was one against Detroit going to Mangum. There were certainly some to Smitty, yeah. But it seems more situational than who he's targeting.

That was gonna be the payoff to the post above.
Weinke did hit Gardner on his first play, but then locked on to Proehl for every non running play after that (that's 6 of 7 targets, all six in a row, and that's without knowing who he was targeting when he ran).

Which isn't "locking onto Smitty", but it's certainly locking on. Doesn't excuse Jake's decisions, or his own locking on, but the ideal of Weinke being a ball-spreader isn't really the key point to attack Jake with (and honestly, Jake's done enough to be considered questionable at times).

Technically, either way, it would be impossible to target Colbert less than Jake.

After what happened to him last week, don't expect Lucas to say anything that could be controversial for a long, long time.
