I am talking LT here. Try putting a rook there and win.

Tony Boseli started as a rookie did he not?

Gross is not a rookie any more he has a whole year of experience complete with a superbowl run behind him. I think he will be just fine over there. I am more worried about guard and our secondary.

    finally, something clever. :nono:

It seems like we learned the wrong lesson from the Diem/Meadows mess. You can take non-blue chip linemen and have as much success. Might have to tell them more, might have to work with them some, but the Pats and Colts both make it work without the big dollars.

Boselli was a 2nd overall. Gross was an 8th overall. Sure, guys like that start early. They're ready. But even Gross said he was so hyped up in Philly that he pulled himself out of his stance numerous times. I can remember two false starts that game from him.

You rely too heavily on youth, you get a lot of mistakes.

mags you used this line in support keeping mr false start himself. that and Stuesse was always good for a homecookin holding call at the wrong time.

I can't think of too many mistakes by Gross. That is the real issue is can he handle it at left tackle in only his second year. I think he can. He is not a rookie any more.

At guard Nelson and Brez/Tylski will be adequate probably but I hope we can add some one decent to the mix. There will be veteran guards available cheap before the season starts. We will probably draft one fairly early too.

Gross had his share of false starts in the playoffs, too. But yeah, finding one more inexpensive veteran guard, if we wish to do so, won't be hard.
