The Frankfurt Galaxy operated under a rare two-quarterback strategy, utilizing both Delhomme and Pat Barnes; the pair was known as the "Double-Headed Quarterback Monster."

anywhere I lay my head I'm gonna call my home
    is it official?

when I went through my postings of likely-to-be available coaches, he was one I said had a Davidson connection but I didn't have a feel for one way or the other. Clearly, he must've knocked out the interview, since the press is glowing about him (which generally comes when someone in the organization says flattering things).

He has a very good college pedigree. His only pro stop was with the Browns, so he has experience with a similar system and our OC. He had an interview with the 49ers, who doesn't have an OC yet, on the 13th, but once our job came open he became an immediate favorite for it.

A 2000 article suggests that his integrity and hard work are unquestioned, but that he failed at one stop partially for not being able to keep OL coaches (which Dave Magazu was one, having been there in 97-98 when Scherer was hired, and heaving for BC after one year), and partially for recruiting. Magazu was actually co-offensive coordinator and OL coach that year.
I can deal with his problems replacing OL coaches, given this staff. I like that Magazu has some insight on him. I'll take those weaknesses to get a good QB technician.

Likely Davidson had some input here. I find that interesting. Could Davidson be gaining more trust from Fox?

He hasn't even officially interviewed here yet. Abusive is just commenting on the speculation the Panthers are interested.

    Wrong. He has interviewed:

Coaching change: McCoy to Denver, Scherer likely in
Turns out Carolina assistant coach Mike McCoy indeed is leaving to become Denver’s new offensive coordinator, and the Panthers appear set to hire his replacement.

Rip Scherer, Cleveland’s assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach under recently-fired Romeo Crenel, was in Charlotte for an interview Saturday and was expected to land the job.
Scherer, 56, formerly worked with Carolina offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson when Davison was on the Browns’ staff.

Scherer helped Cleveland quarterback Derek Anderson to a breakout season in 2007, but Anderson struggled this season and eventually was replaced in the lineup by Brady Quinn.

Scherer is said to be an oustanding quarterbacks' tutor and to have been well-liked by Anderson and Quinn.

Scherer joined the Browns in 2005 after spending 30 years in college football, including serving as head coach at James Madison (1991-94) and Memphis (1995-200). He was with Memphis before the school recruited Carolina running back DeAngelo Williams.

McCoy, 36, spent nine seasons with the Panthers, most recently as passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He was a finalist for the offensive coordinator position in 2007 before Davidson got the job.

Now, McCoy will coordinator the offense for new Broncos coach Josh McDaniels, who was hired to replace Mike Shanahan.
