Here's an interesting little nugget from his blog...

Have any of you guys seen him trying field goals in OTAs?

I saw him kick some FG's last year during camp. He made every one that session.

I didnt see anything in that quote that suggested that he was working on kicking FGs.

We will soon need a successor to Kasay, and I suspect that Kasay will have some say in who it is.

Hope Lloyd goes to the right church.

It could be just for kickoffs, but I doubt it. As I understand it, bio mechanics are a huge part of place kicking - especially for accuracy and consistency. He's got the power thing down, obviously.

Unless he is referencing some record for FGs that he set this post seems to be purely about KOs

so you think Kasay is going to have some say in who is going to play Kicker for the Panthers when he leaves?

I wonder why Reggie White didn't get to pick his replacement when he left the Packers?

    I'd say none whatsoever.

I can't remember the game but the Panthers had the ball at the end of the half and they were killing the clock on 3rd down. It would have been about a 67 yd field goal. I was thinking - how cool would it be for Fox to let Lloyd try it.

    Then I woke up.

it'd be nice if this was eventually leading somewhere with the second kicker, but it's not a big deal. I do know that it's been silly for the team not to have had him try a PAT or FG in preseason last year, given that most of the league lets the backup kicker in camp take one shot, and that player isn't expected to roster like our guy.
