    Linebacker...

Inside, Outside, both, or one guy who could play both?

I really think we could use a guy on the outside given the uncertainty with Fields and Spoon being RFA, I also think we could use a MLB to compete with Chachi. with 9 picks I might be inclined to target one of each.

Baas, WR (got one in mind?), OT (who?). I guess that would handle our needs on O, but what about D? A DT you feel good enough about in 4? You can get linebacker depth in the 2nd day easily, though.

    Depends.
A guy like McCune could play outside some. Problem is, the OLBs are generally light this year, the ones that aren't converted ends; the inside guys are all short. And that's something we could actually use at LB - height.

We could go after one of each, I guess, or just a weakside backup if they really think that Vinny the Chin and the guy who shot himself with a BB gun are enough at ILB

Jackson, Gibson, Henry (though he has baggage) - OT is tough in 3, Colmer has the shoulder question, Britt the leg, Munoz is awful and Petiti tanked.
Maybe better going LB in 3 and coming back with a Roos or Parquet or Willis in 4.

Willis might give us enough flexibility that we could move Gross back if needed. If they're really gung-ho about Wharton, and it's hard to say, then you don't want to drop a 14 pick as insurance.
I'm getting over his crap Sr Bowl performance.

not disagreeing and not sure my memory is serving me well. i just don't remember him pressuring the QB. could be though. about the only consistent pressure i can remember came from Pep. i know Buck made some sacks (not many) but nothing consistent that i remember. ruck improved some over the course of the year but had a dramatically down year for him.

i do remember Morehead disrupting some running plays or tackling a RB behind the LOS (which Mags refers to). from that standpoint and if he didn't actually get any sacks or create pressure, i'm thinking he was better in the run game. i'd agree that he didn't hold the point real well or demand double teams. i don't know that he ever would. so from that standpoint, i don't disagree that
he wasn't real good in the run game but i could see him getting better.

i guess what i'm wondering is if he is a "situational", which in my mind would mean he was pretty good at something in particular where you would actually want him on the field, or if was just barely adequate and starting due to default and only occasionally made a play be it in either the run game or the pass game. not trying to debate. just wondering what the consensus of opinion was.

i take that your opinion is that he is a situational player that we would want to have on the field on 3rd and long and not on first and 10. if what you say is so, then i think he could develop into a decent player as i think he will improve a lot against the run.

not sure what you're asking. what i was trying to say is that i'm not going to be open minded on the subject at present as my current emotion for a WR is running too strong. so despite whateve logic you present, and i know you have plenty though i didn't really study it due to my being in denial no matter how well you argue, i'm not gonna listen at the moment. as we get into the season i may have to concede you right. wouldn't be the first time.

It looked like an unfinished thought.

That was a nice monologue and all, but I didn't say we couldn't use some WR talent.
