What would you do if you could decide for the Panthers.

That's not really a good poll. I'd like to see another vet in competition with Moore and Delhomme. I don't want it given to anyone. I guess theoretically if the option is Moore, Delhomme or one of Manning, Brady, Palmer, McNabb, or Brees then I'd eliminate Moore and Delhomme, but realistically whoever is here needs to earn it.

given this limited selection, Matt Moore, don't see any FA out there I'd want.

I'm not emotionally on a "Moore bandwagon", but I don't see an alternative to Moore that is practical and offers the best chance of success.

We're thin on draft picks as it is and have other needs, so using one on a QB is probably ill-advised.

And we're also probably gonna be deep into JR's pocket, cap or no cap next season, so any free agent capable of outperforming Moore would just be too expensive - if available.

Moore knows the offense...he's 6-2 (record, not height ;) )...the team seems to like him...

There'd have to be a pretty big surprise coming out of camp to justify anybody else starting. Of course, that "pretty big surprise" could come in the form of another attack of idiocy on the part of John Fox... :rifle:

Moore performed well but I'm not entirely sold on him.

Delhomme played like ass AND had some bad luck.

Let them battle it out through the off season to determine who is undeniably the lesser evil and focus on maintaining the running game and improving the D.

Jake is an option. I think my concerns about Moore are primarily based on the fact that Jake has a better rating than Matt when playing from behind on the scoreboard. Granted, it didn't happen as much with Matt. If we maintain our running game and improve our D, then that may only occur rarely and Matt could be the guy.

FWIW Jake hadn't had a great rating or a buncha come from behind victories until he was an actual named starter (except for the Jax game he came into in the beginning here, I guess).

Who knows what MM can do once being named the starter and lotsa reps with the firsts over time.

All things considered, I'd just as soon keep Moore #1.

No CBA will keep a few guys from coming free and the guys who will be UFAs regardless, not much there at all. And right now it doesn't appear as if there will be a new CBA before the league year starts.

I don't believe drafting one with the goal of him supplanting either guy next year is much of a plan, and given what we owe Jake, I'd jus go ahead and make him #2. As far as drafting a guy for the future, we may have a new staff for '11 so unless Fox gets extended, I'd just wait another year to seek our future QB in the draft.
