    Seeing how much we (over)paid Gross, Gamble and Delhomme I can understand that.

    he had to sign the tender before we could trade him to anyone who we wanted to...... Send him to Detroit for their first round pick in next year's draft....

    You still haven't answered my question. Why would detriot give up their 1st (likely top 10) pick for a 17 million dollar player who wants out and would probably go next year anyways?

    They probably would not. I know it is probably not viable to trade him now it just sums up how I feel about him.

    If he gets the 19 mil this year he will have made close to the guaranteed part of Haynesworths contract in the last 2 years before signing a new deal

    It would only be great because it would put this issue to bed. If he does sign long term and then reverts to his 2007 form we are screwed.
