    accepts salary cap, NHL sets the cap at 40 million, players want 52 million.

    12 million bucks is the difference....whats say they meet in the middle and go to 46 million. everyone is happy, NHL release 28 game schedule, and we drop the dang puck. OK?

    Wow. If they have come this far, they should be able to agree on a number. A 28 game season would be pretty intense

    what about free a free agent signing period? there's a lot of loose strings that have to be tied before there can be a season. I'm not getting my hopes up.

    is 28 games enough for the owners to break even?

    at least they'll be playing hard. every game will mean something in the playoff race.

    NHL counters with $42.5 million cap- final offer. If the NHLPA doesn't accept by 11:am Wednesday the season will be cancelled. The article didnt say if it was a hard or soft cap.

    I just saw some funny looking guy on the news say the players had a counter offer of $49 million. No way the season ends with a 6.5 million difference :banana:
