The nano is pretty fucking cool. I have been listening to all my songs while I paint rooms all week. PB coming by July 17. They do give you a ton of email updates on your order.

actually, the question is why would you pay more to have a beautifully designed windows box that can run mac os x. some people would -- i suspect the same sort of mentality that goes into buying other specialty hardware vendors, like, i dunno, alienware maybe.

i know pc -- i built my own box years ago.

Yeah, but if it's so easy it should be easy. These are folks that have been using macs for 15 years.

I'm not trying to convince anyone that Alienware is great or better than anything else. It was just indulgence and being able to buy something cool for the sake of buying something cool.

I just don't get the argument that a Mac can run any software becuase you can install Windows on it. Then it's a Windows machine running on Intel chips and not a Mac at all.

For you becuase you are experienced with that kind of stuff. It's no easier for an idiot to use a Mac than it is for an idiot to use a Windows machine.

that's why i pointed out earlier that macs these days are better compared to dells than to windows machines since they can run windows (or at least, that's where it'll end up in a year or so when all the legacy ppc stuff is no longer being made). they're high-end intel boxes with semi-specialty hardware that are designed to execute the mac osx environment but can also run windows.
