Josh McDaniels = Epic Fail

Josh McDaniels finds himself in what could become a disastrous situation with Jay Cutler seemingly determined to force a trade out of Denver, but sources say McDaniels made a major misstep in dealing with his players well before the feud with Cutler even began. We hear McDaniels’ decision to cut LS Mike Leach and replace him with former Patriots LS Lonie Paxton did not sit well within the locker room and should not be underestimated as a move that damaged McDaniels’ credibility. Leach, who signed with the Cardinals, had done an outstanding job, by all accounts, over the past seven seasons for the Broncos and had been a good teammate. Word is players viewed the move as unfair and inappropriate, and it led to questions about McDaniels’ leadership ability. This guy is burning bridges then pissing on the ashes.

 

It's the classic sense of entitlement that the other Belichick assistants have had once they arrived at the top. I think Cutler is being a bitch, but I also think that hiring a young offensive coordinator is the worst thing Denver could have done.

the Cutler thing is certainly enough to say they could be doomed, but saying that there's unrest over a longsnapper is funny.

I was very surprised when they let Shanahan go. I thought they did ok last year, except for the defense was kinda shitty. But, that could be improved. I think all the young coaches having success last year, prompted Pat Bowlen to give Shanahan the boot, thinking the grass might be greener with another Belichick disciple. I do think McDaniels will fail hard. 8-8 won't look so bad I bet after this season, but I might be wrong. Go Panthers!!!
