    Granted playing raises the risk of injury but shits going to happen. See Ron Artest falling down stairs at home as example

    flawless argument, Peyton could be killed in a liquor store robbery so we thought it was ok to possibly lose him for the playoffs.

    Everything I heard from the colts leading up to this is that they didn't give a shit about going undefeated. I'm sure this was something that they considered as a team not just the staff. Now that the drama is out of the way they can get back to business

    They could have just benched them from the start and saved all the controversy. I don't think there would have been a big difference. I do think you need to play them for some duration, but if you can avoid an entire game, that's something you should take advantage of.

    And I agree about the 16-0/19-0 deal being an unwanted distraction. Not having to deal with that headache anymore probably doesn't hurt them.

    players do care about games started and consecutive games played/started. I'm sure that was a part of it, whether that has meaning to the team or not.

    They played into the 3rd quarter. It was a weak move, at best.
