    an HP pIII-600 laptop on ebay for 400 bucks. I hope it works when I finally recieve it.

    did it have an OS loaded on it? that sounds like an extremely good price, because generally laptops are running $1-$1.50 per Mhz.

    It's supposed to me loaded on it and a bunch of software. We'll see. I thought it to be a good price thats why I bought it. At the computer show yesterday they wanted 400 for pII-300's which I thought to be a suckers price. We'll see what I end up with when it gets here.

    If everything works it'll be a good computer, has a dvd floppy 6gig hd 128M memory 14" display. Supposedly has office xp photoshop 7.0 and other software loaded. The guy who sold it is arab so it's probably a mail bomb.

    Wow, you must like to live dangerously; buying a semi-big ticket item off of ebay..and from an Arab. Holy smokes Batman!
    I read all the time of buyers getting burned on musical instrument, for example. They receive the eg sax damaged, seller claims it was perfect when he shipped it, etc...round and round.
    And , from an Arab!? Better get the post office to have a sniff with their bomb dog. :rolleyes:

    My laptop finally got here yesterday. It works great, has ME and office xp installed on it. I bought a usb cdrw last nite. It'll solve a lot of problems for me, I can digital camera and draft on location like a fiend now.
