In golf terms, I think we started with an eagle, added a birdie, and closed with two bogies and a par. Disappointed with how we approached the final picks, but overall just getting a guy like Star makes me pretty happy. And I trust that we'll refine Short into a good player. Two of the last three being projects and another being a superfluous white guy LB leaves a sour aftertaste, though.

Getting a foundation piece at #14 is pretty thrilling, even it was more lucky than good. Short has potential even if I think there were better choices, and I don't know if anything will come of the other guys, but Lotulelei alone makes it an A- in my book.

Absolutely. It's nice to feel good about a draft though. Can't remember the last time we did.

I think Gettleman has a fucking plan and is thinking 2-3 steps ahead. Already planning shit for next year signings and FA... Where Hurney never seemed to have a plan and would mortgage the future to get a pick now. And he royally fucked us in the ass with the cap. ************ was passing out checks like it was candy.

Our plan in free agency definitely seemed geared more towards "win now", which is why I'm surprised by the later draft picks. There were more NFL ready players available. Perhaps they wanted to strike some sort of a happy medium here.

Yeah I think they are trying to fix this mess without having to blow it the fuck up. Or at least thats I think thats what the plan is with all of the one year deals handed out. Get us through cap hell and still have a decent core intact, resign Cam and Hardy, and have some to play around with in FA.

Hurney would have jumped all over trading next years 2nd. All the one year deals this offseason would have been 6 year deals with 20 mil in signing bonuses. We should have dumped his ass a couple of years ago.

I love the foundation of the defense and the skill players on offense, but it's hard to imagine us being very good with such a poor offensive line. I guess pray like hell that Amini makes a huge step forward, and that Kugbila becomes a starter sooner than later (and that Kalil is still Kalil).

We got someone to replace Jenkins, finally. I'm not seeing a Hardy late, but those late picks are a crapshoot, usually so I'm okay with that. B on the picks, pushed up to B+ for no trades.
