Cam Newton is the franchise QB.

Has ultimate faith in Ron Rivera.

    Have a quality coaching staff.

Cap strapped, some difficult decisions coming. Won't go away.

    Need some more hog mollies.

Paused when asked if back to back playoff appearances is something we can expect, said he can't make predictions, but in time he thinks we can get there.

Expressed San Fran and Seattle are heavy bodied teams, and we competed with both of them. "we're almost there."

The game of football - offense scores points, defense wins championships. It's not gonna change.

Never cried about injuries, kept moving.

    We deserved to be 12-4.

As to the Offense not scoring enough - Rome wasn't built in a day.

Ron anticipates ALL THREE of his coordinators coming back. Ugh.....

Shula. Yes, too bad, but he's probably not going anywhere for now. Hell, even the great Jeff Davidson got a mulligan after "LEADING THE PANTHERS POWER RUNNING ATTACK TO A 12-4 RECORD" in 2008.

Going to be interesting to see what Gettleman (and presumably ownership) does about Rivera's contact. There's some manufactured fear that making him enter 2014 as a "lame duck" would present issues. I disagree. Ron's seat has been hot since the middle of 2012, and he appears to respond well to it.

Judging by the crop of cuckolds getting the vacant HC gigs right now, not so sure there's a better option. And that would include Cowher. Your just about as good as:

    1) your talent
    2) your staff

Nobody that would be available would magically upgrade those areas, and personally, I don't want to jumble up this very sound coaching staff.

Well, with the exception of Shula. He fucking sucks, and there's nothing he can/will do moving forward to change that.

I listened to a bit of the interview online. I was impressed by Gettleman. So far, he seems to have been a good hire.

I want to clean off a contract or two now and carry the dead money for a year verses redoing deals that we will have to deal with later on

Offensive line. More hog mollies needed. Seattle and San Fran are the models, heavy bodied teams.

That's good though. If we can get better there, presto. We may have a running game. If we have a running game, we have an offense.

I think Hardy staying will really depend on him. If he wants to break the bank, which he's been chirping endlessly about that shit, and it got old fast, he's not gonna do it here.

CJ is gonna have to start working again and get off his lazy ass and press it. Get into fucking shape.

I finally got around to watching it tonight. Rivera might as well have been sucking on a pacifier.

I do feel much better with Gettleman than with Hurney, and I'll just leave it at that.

yes but there was no where to go but up. So we went from arguably the worst GM in the league to an above average one by most accounts so far.

Gettleman has made it quite clear that he is going to retain core guys like Cam and Luke. Cam is going to get 20+ million a year for the next 7 or 8 years with half of that guaranteed. Is he, or will he ever be a top 5 or 10 QB NFL QB? Luke is likely to get paid like a top 5 LB. Is he top 5 in his position?

Great GMs don't overpay players and fuck up the future of their team. The points is to keep your best players for as long and as cheaply as you can. We don't have the luxury here of a consistent contender for rings (i.e. the fucking pats) so we'll have to be good (i.e. DT) and not just lucky (i.e. DB) to bring in solid talent on the cheap every single spring. TALENT ACQUISITION AND TIMING IS EVERYTHING

Agreed. I bashed the draft picks, but three of the seven working out is pretty good even if some of the other spots could have been spent better. The one part I still have trouble getting over is not creating competition for Byron Bell. Still, Gettleman has made some nice moves so far and therefore I'm hopeful. He has a hell of a task ahead of him this off-season.
