Now it's settled in, and he signed pretty damn quick.

He can take his fumbling only plays in contract year hamstring pulling weapon carring pot smoking first down pointing wall painting pass dropping route stopping show me the money sorry ass to the windy city and freeze his gonads off for all I care

what is that between the legs shit anyway?

Yeah really. If you're not with us, then fuck you and all you did for the franchise. [IMG]

Funny, not a soul laid a peep when Smitty sat there with his hand out the first part of 2003, got told he was marginal, and then put up a contract year in the wake of those comments. Or Jake for that matter.

Jake? You can't bring him onto this...It was his first year as a fulltime starter, yeah he got paid, but then he put up better numbers last year

I totally agree. And I was happy we brought both Jake and Steveophone back.

But I find it odd as hell that no one was concerned with how much money we gave two relative unknowns who had one good year, ever. And there's tons of angst like Moose shoulda just taken the lowest offer we gave, and that he mysteriously did great only because it was a contract year. Both of those ideas are absolute bullshit, and the same standard doesn't hold for the above players.

Muhsin Muhammad has been nothing but a class act in his nine seasons as a Carolina Panther.

    He survived it all.

    Dom's firing.

    Greene's choking.

    Carruth's murder.

    Lane's murder.

    Seifert's firing.

    Fox's arrival.

    Smitty's emergence.

    Smitty's disappearance.

Muhsin was always a stand-up man. Even in his darkest hour, his arrest in early 2002 on gun and weed charges, he stood up like a man and showed how you learn from a mistake. You accept responsibility, say the right things and mean them, and become a better man and better performer for it.

Anyone who suggests that Muhsin Muhammad should feel bad about this is crazy. No one should feel bad about anything. Not Moose. Not Fox. Not Hurney. Not Segal. Not JR. It is what it is: business.

Best of luck, Moose. That is, until we play you.

it's not all about what that ex-arab did for the Panthers, but also what they did for him, and all that shit he'd been saying about wanting to stay a Panther...he blew smoke up our ass, took another toke, and blew some more smoke out of the other side of his mouth...I think he had a deal in place before he got cut...he already knew what he could get

He's neither arab nor Muslim. Good job wth that.

Yeah, he wanted to stay. We lowballed him, and then cut him. What would you do?

Definitely. I've no worries about him being back. But for all Smith has done, it's not a big deal. Off the field issues, on the field issues, it's all good. It's just him. Contract year's his only good year? No worries, we have him locked down. Same issues, change that from 89 to 87, and the criteria changes. Just odd. It's done, and there aren't/shouldn't be regrets, but fuck this "oh to hell with him, contract year, he dropped a ball, put a joke on his helmet once, weed, bluster bluster blah blah blah" shit. We're a lesser team without him.

    Now that's just silly.

Whatever he is, he was good for us. Now he's gone because we couldn't pay him what he wanted, or what he deserved for that matter.
