    from the Pixies. Anyone listened to his solo stuff? I got Black Letter Days. I may like it more than Pixies. He seems to have a ton of solo releases.

    got the first three releases: Frank Black, Teenager of the Year and Cult of Ray. They seemed to get worse so I quit buying them. Frank Black does kick booty tho.

    another thread mentions the best pixies record.."trompe le monde", imho. that's if you don't count the dual release "come on pigrim/surfa rosa", which rules.

    I had the frist one, Frank Black. I remember liking it but never bought any of his other stuff..it reminded me of Pixies Trompe Le Monde...which was good also

    The newer stuff Frank Black & the Catholics sounds nothing like the Pixies. It's kind of dark hard acoustic bluesy but with steel guitars etc. Something kind of like White Stripes.
