    Yeah.

I don't see JR signing him.

off the field trouble doesn't help, no.
Other options are minor and picking a player top 13 just doesn't make any sense since we're obviously going to draft a tackle.
I'm sure there's someone out there in FA who's not done anything stupid that plays in the NFL, though.

I disagree that taking a back top 13 makes no sense.

I'm going to expand on this.

Since 2003, we've been 2 deep at RB, with Foster and Davis. Then it was Foster and Williams.

Foster was #34 pick and was a backup for several years.
Williams was #27 pick and was a backup for his only 2 years.

In 2004 we lost a whole fucking slew of RB's.

I don't think it would be out of character at all to drop a round 1 pick on an RB.

So you figure hurney/fox would do it, but do you agree with it?

Yeah, I'd be fine with it, depending on who else is there.

We cut our starting left guard - so that's a need, but no guards in the top 13.

We could go for a tackle - so that's a need, but not totally b/c we have the exact same tackle depth we had last year.

    Rucker retired and wasn't great.

We cut our starting RB, and our backup is a known liability in the pass blocking / blitz pickup department.

We have no FB under contract, which makes our backup FB our backup RB, and he's had concussions.

Hurney and Fox ( and even the players ) have stated that they want another playmaker on offense.

Honestly, I'd be happy with DE, DT, OT, RB in no particular order. I think that whatever RB we get needs to be able to touch it 150 times, so he can't suck.

I can't see us even using the 13th pick. The depth is there at OL, so we can move down and still get our RT.

plus we still have needs at TE, RB, WR, QB, S, DE, & LB

Trading down might be an option. We could still land an OT and get some extra picks... Sam Baker will probably be there at the bottom of round one.

I saw somewhere that Hurney said at the combine that the thinking was moving Wharton to LG. That tells me they're probably targeting a LT at the 13th spot. Makes perfect sense to me. Our line needs some help. Gross is franchised which tells me this year could be his last year. We're also weak at RG. This line could go in a number of different directions but we need some talent on that line, not more average players or just good enough.

I think it's crazy to take a RB that high when you still have DW who was a high pick, hasn't gotten a shot yet, and isn't at all a bust. We're trying to make a shifty, fast, quick feet zone blocking o-line. DW is the perfect back for that. We just need that heavy change of pass 3rd down and 1 back who will fall forward for one yard every time.

That might be smart. Who might trade with us?
