Bulger and Culpepper will both struggle to reach previous highs, but my concern with Bulger is just his health. I wouldn't have any problem with someone choosing him over the others mentioned, though.

I know this wasnt directed at me, but I know fantasy football and Culpepper has been a fantasy football nightmare. Now, of course a lot of that has to do with the fact that C-pep has been drafted very high based on prior years history. He has done nothing since loosing Moss. Call that a coincidence if you want, but it is true none the less.

Favre has laid his share of turds, but at least with Favre he has momentum and is a first ballot HOFer, C-peps only momentum is that he is playing a defense that has been shredded.

I know I don't need to goad you on, but it will be interesting to see who has a better fantasy weekend between Favre and C-pep. C-pep may very well be the one, but I would pick up Favre having Donald Driver to throw to over C-pep with Wes Welker being his best target so far this year.

I will also add that, Favre is going against a paper lion of sorts in Phili since they are pretty banged up. It's not like Favre is facing the 85 Bears or anything. As bad as Green Bay is on Defense, you can bet that Favre will be throwing the ball a LOT Sunday v/s Miami who may very well run the ball to take some pressure off of C-Pep so they don't have to really bench him like the coach threatened to do last week.

    Edit

I just looked at their stats.
Favre 850 passing yds 6 TD's 3INT 72 Points (one of my Yahoo leagues)
    C-Pep 680 Passing Yds 1 TD 3INT 20 Rushing Yds 1 TD 39 Points......

Over the first three weeks, yes. The same can be said for Carnell Williams or Chad Johnson. In fact, many QBs have been surprisingly bad thus far. As for draft position, anyone who took him early deserves what they got because he was coming off extremely serious knee damage and entering an entirely new offensive system.
Again, people who don't actually know much about football and only look at the bottom line don't realize that Moss was hurt for much of the 2004 season. He was not drawing double coverages while Culpepper went on to have one of the best seasons in NFL history. Meanwhile I have already explained too many times to count that Daunte struggled last year because the offensive line was riddled with injuries, Linnehan was gone, and he was pressing too much to make plays downfield instead of dumping the ball off when nothing was open. It had very, very little to do with Moss not being there, otherwise Kerry Collins would have become a fantasy star, correct?
Dude, anytime you want to bring up the distant past in a discussion about present performance, you're just flat out going to lose all credibility. That's like talking about Kurt Warner's glory days and saying that they're reason enough to have faith in him now. Favre is a solid fantasy quarterback who will put up strong numbers, and I've actually been his biggest defender here, but the past is just that.
Anything can happen on any particular week (who foresaw Charlie Frye having a decent game against Baltimore?), but going with Favre against Philadelphia over Culpepper against Houston would just be outright stupid.

Ah, I just realized that this is why you're pimping Favre, because you're defensive about having chosen him before I showed why that would be the wrong move.

Not at all. I just flat out expect Favre to have a more solid fantasy weekened than C-Pep.

Once again, my statement was IF I was going to make this move at all. Not having the whole team and not being in the league, the dynamic just isnt the same for me as it is for the person asking the question. Personaly, I avoided Pep and Favre on draft day. The original question I think was asking for an opinion between those 2 guys and this week, I like Favre.

You have all the knowledge in the world about everything football, but Fantasy Football is a differant breed of ball. I know you play it and I assume you know what I mean. I also assume you don't usually do that well in Fantasy Football. If I am wrong, I apologize.

well, i traded fred taylor, rivers, and jeef reed for bulger, momo, and vanderjack. i successfully avoided using a waiver pick..they're limited...to complete my bye week holes. taylor was somewhat expendable...sjax,agreen,taco, and fwp...

eli is my main qb and i could still make a move on favre or culp. plus, now i will move momo to the sa owner for something ridiculous.
