Yeah but who called you that? Some meathead jock who now changes your oil?

Somehow, "lovesong" made it okay to like the Cure in high school. I'm not really sure why.

The first cure song I ever heard was "Friday, I'm in Love," I've never really been able to take them seriously since.

The Get Up Kid's version of "Close to Me" is kick ass though, way better than the original.

P.S. Doves are kind of boring, but then again, I think that whole brit pop scene is kind of boring. Why can't there be some Richard Hell and Johnny Thunder clones?

As expansive as they both are, it never ceases to amaze me how mutually exclusive our music tastes are PB. That'll never change.

Maybe we like some of the same oldies stuff? Beatles, Brian Wilson, Dylan, van Morrison, early Stones, Nick Drake, Big Star? No?

    Hey LJ

    Have you bought this yet?

It's starting to grow on me. About 5-6 tracks that I really like.

If Jimmy could sing, they'd be just about the best pop band alive.

all i can say is i love 'black and white' (??).. 'some cities' (the title track) itself isn't very good though. i'm feeling my way through this.

Yep, black and white town was my first favorite. And I didnt like some cities. It's Jimi's voice. It's painful. And the song kind of meanders and drags on.

The next song liked was One of These Days. Still a favorite, but I almost wore it out.

Let me end the mystery for you: Snowden, Almost Forgot Myself & Someday Soon are the next three tracks you'll like, probably after One of These Days.

They already cut a video for Black & White Town (you gotta love a song about getting pissed), and have stated that Snowden is the next single.

snowden is amazing as is the storm. i'm digging this album, however walk in fire sounds a lot like there goes the fear.
