Yeah the Cam leadership thing is painfully fake.

 

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what kind of leader Smitty is. He's a fiery MF and an emotional catalyst. But he has never been one to take guys under his wing and assume the vet/teacher role. He's way too competitive and abrasive.


I do feel his Rivera remarks were a little out of line. You keep those comments to yourself.

 

Yeah we don't want competitive people around the building.

 

It's too distracting.

 

Receivers like LaFell and others have said plenty of times that Smith has taken them under his wing and mentored him.

Saying that never happened is just a lie.

 

Who the hell did they ever bring in (draft) until this year that had a shot at taking what Smitty could help them with and doing something with it?

And besides, what is Proehl supposed to be doing? We are paying him to teach WRs ( edit: and he's eminently qualified). It's all fat carpetbagging bullshit.

 

He took Anthony Bright under his wing. He punched him in the beak a few times while he was under there but he did take him under his wing.

 

Bright should've kept his mouth shut in the film room, man.

 

Just because he's competitive and a great player doesn't make him a great leader. Pep wasn't a leader. Jake was a leader. TD is a leader. I've seen Smitty cus at and fight his own players. I don't recall him being at the center of many huddles rallying the troops. Maybe he has and its just my perception.


He just threw a bunch of his old teammates and HC under the bus. The guy knew how to be an asshole. Even random people that met him at camp can attest to that and I'm one of the people that have had a great time meeting him.

 

Every team has to have a few assholes on it.
Let the fuckers get angry if they play better.
I`ve seen Benji get mad a few times, but not many others.
