Vikings | Culpepper's Season Over; ACL, MCL and PCL Damage
    Mon, 31 Oct 2005 11:39:01 -0800

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports Minnesota Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper (knee) suffered damage to his ACL, MCL and PCL and will miss the remainder of the 2005 season. Due to severe swelling in the knee area, the initial examination was not able to determine the extent of damage to each ligament.

Tice also wondered (aloud in presser on Mon), why his team isn't "tough enough, mentally and physically."

    RIP Vikings in 2005.

Good grief. I don't think I even knew there was such a thing as a PCL.

its the ligament that connects to it I think. I think it actually should be listed as the Patellar Ligament not PCL.

    posterior cruciate ligament

The PCL is located in the back of the knee and connects the thighbone (femur) to the shinbone (tibia) to prevent the shinbone from moving too far backward.

He'll be lucky to be able to jog by next spring. I hate it for him, tho, at least he won't have to play out the rest of their sorry season.
