twelve months ago it was all about how we'd hired the wrong Browns coordinator because Davidson didn't radically improve the Carthon mess or do what the guy following him did (with the addition of a franchse LT, an incredibly expensive guard, a thousand yard rusher, and so on).

One problem I have with all these young guys? It's like they don't know anyone outside the guys they just worked with. Callahan isn't a terrible choice as OC, I guess, but he was just a part of the problem, too. And everyone else they say might go with him are all either Jets or Pats.

 

How is Marvin Lewis hanging on to his job?

 

Callahan was supposed to be more focused on line stuff while Schottenheimer ran most of the O, but who knows how deep his involvement really was.

rumors were that Crennel could be DC, but now it looks like the Rob Ryan (the raiders one) gets the job. I honestly don't know how they could think demoting Crennel would leave him with any credibility.

 

yeah, any realistic person would know how dumb that Crennel move would be. Nobody I know has ever done that but Gunther Cunningham, and that was after leaving the franchise for a few years.

Daboll, the QBs coach in NE and NYJ, is the OC, it's now coming out.




Also, Knapp to Seattle as the OC. Is Gil Haskell out?

almost. Rathmann chose the 9ers over them. Not that they necessarily sought him out, I have no idea if they're keeping the other staffers.

I really don't know. Cheapness from the Browns, possibly. I know that played a part in Buffalo, where apparently 5-1 got Jauron a new contract midseason, then went 2-8.
