wasn't really rejected. rescinded, but not rejected. It was agreed upon and signed some time ago.

I will say I'm impressed the owners had a unanimous vote for it. Some of them stand to lose a shit load of money in the case of a work stoppage. Realistically it does make sense though. With the economy suffering, payrolls have to be reeled in a little. There doesn't need to be a 7% increase yearly, and the players would still be millionaires. I also like the fact of making a rookie pay scale similar to the NBAs.

If they don't get their shit together the NFL will suck, and it is so popular because you don't know who will win. Who the fuck thought the giants would win. With no salary cap look for the cowboys and redskins in the NFC Championship every year.

Yeah, 64% player share is a bit steep. I really didn't think the owners would sit with roughly 1/3 share.

The owners and players associaction have two seasons to hammer this thing out, three if you count an uncapped 2010 season. It can be done, but I hope they don't put it on the back burner until after the 2009 season. By putting it off until the last minute is the reason the league was so close to a lockout before this past agreement was reached.

a common error is assuming no cap equals cowboys and redskins pulling a yankee type spending domination. Actually it doesn't.

Free agency limited, teams have more tags to keep their players, and playoff teams are restricted with cash to spend. Even if this happens, it won't be the bonanza that it sounds like. It will be shitty for everyone.
