What do we think so far?

I actually like his positive/rah rah disposition. You can't really quantify it, but I think it's right for this team with this roster, which still relies on a ton of young players. His playcalling can drive me up a wall sometimes, though. I kinda wish he would focus more on head coach/CEO duties and bring in some new ideas for offense. The run game in particular has stalled out because there's not much creativity there.

Meh. Yet to be determined till he gets a decent QB. He's good at the PR side, but he just hasn't come up with a catch phrase that substitutes for a "I don't have an answer." i.e. It is what it is...

I truly hope we don't give Webster the 5th year, not yet anyway.

You have to have a very perfect team for him to work out at QB. That is hard to do.

I like him. He's a young coach and we're a team that typically has hired older so I hope there's still some growth there we haven't seen from the other guys. I'd say we have one more season before it's shit or get off the pot and we might make the playoffs.

The 5th is cheap year to evaluate more. If there's a clear upgrade available you figure it out if not he's a decent Alex Smith while you find your mahomes.

I'm willing to cut Bryce some slack for yesterday. You're dealing with the NFL's best secondary while your WR1 is flu addled. That's a rough assignment, especially when you can't or won't run the ball, and Hubbard's awful fumble completely changed that game. Some type of 13-10 win was very possible before that play.

The Panthers have bigger issues to solve than quarterback. I know that's not the narrative right now, but it's true nonetheless. Pass rush, receiver depth, starting linebackers, and secondary depth are much more pressing. Getting this roster to 8-8 with a few signature upsets is a pretty good job by Canales.

I'm also wondering how wetting the playoff appetite would calibrate Tepper's patience, because I think patience is still required before this team can be a true contender. You might have a better roster next season, yet not more wins. That's life in the NFL. Does making it this year buy Canales a playoffless year next season, or does the team go ALL IN and risk blowing up the entire regime.

I agree with B&B hire a good offensive coordinator and let him run the offense. Evero looks good as long as Derek Brown is healthy. Canales has the team buying into his system. Plus, he’s done a hell of a job with Webster.

A good QB can make up for lot of other bad team qualities. How many people owe their Super Bowl rings on Tom Brady? All QBs can have moments in the sun. The TV talking heads always tout his comeback winning drives, but how about having a lot more of the other teams having to try a comeback win on the Panthers?
There can always be excuses made for a loss or for a QB's sucky performance. There is no mulligan for a loss. Bryce is, at the most, the third best QB in his own division. That has worked out this season so far with an 8-8 record. How long can the Panthers count on the other division teams sucking just a little bit more than they do? The Panthers' better record over last season is mainly because they don't have another record setting bad defense. We've all seen teams in the last few years go from shitty to playoffs. Teams like the Texans, Patriots, Broncos, Bears. Teams where the QB is enough to get them over the top consistently.
Bryce doesn't suck all the time, but he hasn't been good most of the time.
So please continue on with the excuses till some double digit winning seasons come.
Good luck to them next week. They are playing a struggling team with a losing record. The main thing is for this team is they lost this week. Lets hope the pattern continues.
