I thought I saw Wahle. I think Wahle was there.

Kalil was there. Everyone else i didn't mention was there - Mathis, etc.

I thought the 'newsworthy' things were that Butler played some LT, Bridges played only at Guard, and Hartwig played center and guard.

Yeah, Butler is really interesting. Everybody knew he was a project and it will be intersting to see how he's coming along. I didn't mean to criticize, I'm just really interested in the rookies. Thanks for the info.

It's particuarly interesting if we are going to give Bridges a good look at guard.

If we could have a decent backup at LT and keep Gross at RT in case Wharton gets hurt again, or doesn't return to form, that'd be good. I'd like to see Butler on the actives list.

Bridges shouldn't be at guard. Before, I'd have considered it, but still felt like we should handle it amongst the guys we had. Now, with center making a lot more sense with Kalil/Hangartner, I'd much rather have Hartwig at RG than Bridges, who's our only serviceable tackle who won't start.

    Mags,

    Wharton
    Harwig
    Kalil
    Bridges
    Gross

Are Arguably our best 5, right now.

At the very least, it makes Mathis or Hartenger battle a veteran for the spot. It sets a standard for them to beat. I like the move.

By RIGHT NOW - I guess you mean since Wahle is hurt. But Since Wharton is hurt - maybe not?

Bridges is a better guard than Wahle?

Well, no. But he's hurt. My meaning is we put out our "best five" right now, who are available. I put Wharton in there, but should have said Butler.

It means nobody will be given a spot. We've got 5 established guys, and a well regarded second round pick. Mathis, Hartenger, and Montgomery will have to earn spots.

Wish we'd stuck to that plan at reciever as well, but that's in another thread. This is no different.
