And how many of those teams won a Super Bowl with the black quarterback. I admire their skill level, but it doesn't get it done in the playoffs. We already have a running game, we need someone to get the ball to Smith and Mush (and Moss if the Peppers deal actually goes threw)

Gross was a much better pick than Leftwich, even though a bunch of you guys had a hard on for him at the time. (before you flame me I know Leftwich went before we picked but leading up to the draft half this board wanted to draft Leftwich)

I would've taken Leftwich, even though I liked what we had. I'm not going to change my thoughts in hindsight, it looked like a great idea. The thing is, he's not that guy now. He could pick it up and work well with a team, and it wouldn't have been the worst to have him as our backup, but clearly he's not the franchise guy they thought.

Tampa figured he'd be good enough to get through the year, but it's not like we didn't know even then that he had problems staying healthy or consistent.

I do not like drafting a QB really high when you have a lot of holes in your football team. Even when they pan out it usually takes a few years to happen. I would much rather draft guys in the later rounds and try to see if they develop. Granted we have not had any luck with that but it is still a sound theory. We probably need to draft a guy in the second or third at some point if we really want a guy to groom.

Philly has had 4 now. Rodney Peete, Randall, Donny Mac, and Vick.
