Mint might have been a casualty too otherwise.

Guarantee it wasn't a pay cut. Just taking money from salary to prorated bonus.

If their's no cap next year, no cap relelated reason not to do this as much as we can.

Which makes me think Buck may have been gone anyway.

Yes, and while both are irritating, both can at least speak fairly well. Shannon Sharpe, on the other hand, sounds like someone from the Star Wars cantina.

Too many defensive moves make me worry. We're assuming Jenks will come back to form, and that his dominant year wasn't just "his one good shot at fame". We can assume Morgan will be in and out of the line up at least some and while Buck might not be a star, he's at least competent and I don't think you can overlook leadership as insignificant. I'd really like to see Draft come back.

Buck can always come back as a coach, then do his NFL Network stuff on the side.

Coaches don't have much spare time. He could also come back for a lower salary, maybe. There are only a few teams with cap room, and they will use it up quickly.

I would have cut Buckner too, but sadly. I would take that tag off Foster, and then see if I could restructure the rest of the way.

What is the penalty to the team if they are over the cap at the start of the season ?

FWIW, espn radio reported the cap is set at 94.5 mil.

I heard Brenston on Fox Sports radio as I was leaving work, he was very classy in his tone saying he understood why they were doing what they did. That he wants to play for a team that is close to the playoffs/Super Bowl. Also if playing isn't going to happen he wants 1st to get into the media (radio, commentary etc..) or then coaching
