You can't be over the cap at the deadline. If you are, the NFL cuts your team for you. They cut players in order of least seniority, and cut as many as they need to get you under the cap. I don't think its ever happened.

We have 102 mil scheduled to be paid. The cap figure is 94.5 mil. That's over by 7.5 mil.

    Minter saves 1.7 mil
    Buckner 1.5
    Davis 2.8

Total saving 6.0 mil. 1.5 mil to go, what's the big deal?

Oh yeah, give Mick's job to Buck

Rucks not getting cut. Wallace might, but doubt it.

Sad to see Buckner go, as well as Davis. Couldnt give a shit about Smart. Took too long, honestly. Buck missing from that DL certainly doesnt help us there, and I believe he probably had two good more years in him. He was still, at times, the best lineman out there. At times.

Ah, fuck it. So here it goes. Three down.

And we dont have shit as far as running backs go. Foster better not get a big contract, goddammit, or Ive lost all fucking faith in Hurney and co.. Keeping core players is one thing, but not at the expense were doing it at. Fuck.

I'm down for him, at a good enough price, a la what Buckner was making. He's the sack presence we could use, and probably a better fit here than in the 3-4. Age is a minor issue, but hasn't missed a game in years.

Glover would give some good punch up the middle for us. He would have to sign cheap though. You know if we had some cap space this would be nice for us. At least we are not faced with cutting any key players.
